On the Road: Beijing, China
Future of Places Conference in Stockholm
Beijing with our students, leading the third year of the Approaching the Human Cities Workshop.
On the Road: Vancouver with youth
One of my co-authors will be presenting our paper "Renewing Places for People: Training Human-Centered Designers and Planners to Foster Inclusive Cities" at the Future of Places conference organized by Ax:son Foundation, UN Habitat, and Project for Public Spaces this week.
Exploring community resilience
Travel to learn, to open your mind— better yet, travel with a bunch of teenagers! Many thanks to everyone who entertained this idea from the start— and especially Ann, Judy, and Rosa who made it possible for 10 youth to travel to Seattle/Vancouver to learn about urban planning from local experts first hand.
This past week, I traveled to George Mason University as one of the three finalists for the Cameron Rian Hays Transportation Innovations Competition to present my submission: "Build-A-Lifeline: Encouraging Community Resilience through Flexible and Adaptive Transportation Networks."
